Kane celebrates his 100th goal for Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has revealed that his enthusiasm in returning to the Premier League has diminished and he is prepared to negotiate a new contract with Bayern Munich.
The prolific striker is currently midway through the four-year contract he inked when transferring to from Tottenham Hotspur for a substantial fee in the offseason of 2023.
The experienced forward has scored an remarkable 103 goals in 106 matches for the German team, helping them claim the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which represented the initial major honor of his distinguished career.
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has recently stated that he would welcome to see Kane return to England, where he requires 48 goals to overtake Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring record of 260.
However, the England skipper has now clarified that he is no longer as enthusiastic about going back home as he once was, and would certainly consider lengthening his time in Bavaria.
"In terms of staying longer, I could absolutely see that," he commented.
"I discussed openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be willing to talk and have an straightforward conversation.
"Obviously it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we accomplish together. Right now, I would say we are in a superb moment and I am not considering about anything else.
"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.
"Now I have been there a couple of years I would perhaps say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.
"What I have realized in my career is that different options and different periods happen and things work out. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."
Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions
Kane is the historic top marksman for both Tottenham and England and lately became the quickest player this century to hit 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five competitions, reaching the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.
However, a trophy had eluded him until he won the German title last season.
Kane admits that he was not sure how he would react after breaking his trophy barren spell, but now feels it has made him eager for more success.
"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.
"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've shown that this year.
"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to accomplish in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.
"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.
"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."
